XCast Labs TO PROVISION FULL LINE OF ARRIS CABLE MODEMS, delivers voice and video to 2ok subscribers in NYC

Rapid Deployments, Technical Reliability and Performance Drive

Steadily Increasing Market share For Hosted VoIP Provider

Long Beach, CA  (March 1, 2010) -- Today from the NCTC Winter Educational Conference in Long Beach, XCast Labs (www.XCastLabs.com), a global, hosted Voice and Video over the Internet (VoIP) provider, announced that it can now automatically provision the full line of Arris EMTAs (Embedded Multi-media Terminal Adapters), which combine a cable modem with up to 12 ports of VoIP capability. The skyrocketing VoIP service provider also reported that Private Network Cable (PNC) Television, a New York City competitive Video, Internet and Digital Satellite provider, has selected it for XCast VoIP for its Digital Phone Service launch.

“The Private Network HFC system passes some 20,000 potential MDU (multi-dwelling unit) subscribers, and we plan to roll out the PNC Digital Voice product across our entire New York City footprint,” said Wayne Gordon, PNC Director of Engineering. "We evaluated a number of solutions during our trials; the ease of customer turn up was a leading factor in our selection of XCast, and its product fit perfectly in line with our technical objectives.”

XCast Labs CEO, Cliff Rees, credits his company’s growth to the inherent cost and technical benefits of its proprietary SaaS Digital Voice and Video platform, coupled with a no-nonsense engineering approach.

“The success XCast Labs has achieved over the past 12 months, such as our 48% rise in revenue, is no surprise to us.

99.995% reliability and patented Direct-RTP technology are among the true differentiators that enable XCast to activate high-quality service for cable operators and other reseller customers within a few days, compared to other service providers that need several months, which reduces customer frustration and increases agent commissions.

“In addition, that quality coupled with our low price point makes XCast the ideal provider and partner for partner for industry leaders, like Arris.”

Arris makes 2, 4, 8 and 12-line EMTAs, for providing VoIP service to end-users, from residential to small business.  XCast provides fully branded, hosted VoIP service to nearly 20 cable operators across the U.S., almost all of which have chosen the Arris EMTA as their device of choice to provide all triple-play services – cable TV, Internet, and phone.

“Our ability to auto-provision Arris devices at no charge to the cable operator sets XCast apart in the industry, as all other providers charge for managing even the voice side of the EMTA,” added Mr. Rees. “Also of note, is that all customers of the respective cable operator will automatically have access to any new features or upgrades to their voice service without any cable company personnel having to visit their house.”
